Walt Disney Concert Hall

According to Wikipedia, additional funds were required since the construction cost of the final project far exceeded the original budget. Plans were revised, and in a cost saving move the originally designed stone exterior was replaced with a less costly metal skin.

I guess financial problem equal a photographer's dream. This metal reflects all the beauty of the sky and sunsets.  I couldn't imagine it any other way!

Red Rock Canyon Part I

Just purchased a guide book on hiking in Los Angeles.  My first adventure was to Red Rock Canyon off Old Topanga Canyon Road.  This book is already proving to be a great investment.  More pics to come!

The Upside to El Nino!

Swift flowing creeks and full-bellied lakes!

The Demise of State HWY 173

Thanks to El Nino, Lake Arrowhead has experienced above average rainfall, and warmer than average temperatures (meaning no snow).  Therefore, Lake Arrowhead (the actual lake) overflowed this winter and it was either flood all the lake houses or overflow the run-off creeks.  Unfortunately both have severe consequences, but the city decided to let the water run into the creeks which undermines the compromised mountain roads and creates exactly what you see above.  A huge mess!

Skiers and snowboarder may be interested to know that Highway 330 is also compromised to the same weather related damages.  However, since this damage occurred on the side of the mountain, I think it's going to take ALOT longer to fix.  Check out the gnarly pics here:

Christmas Eve Tradition

Christmas Eve dinner is a perfected tradition in our home.  Mommy and Daddy are the master chefs of the holiday menu: Twice baked potatoes, filet mignon and chocolate mousse or raisin pie for dessert!  Could you imagine why anyone WOULDN'T want to join our family for dinner?
